4. Repeat this procedure until the add water warning is displayed.

Keurig K-Supreme or K-Slim Series Descaling

1. As instructed on the product, fill your reservoir with a descaling solution and water mixture.

4. Refill the container with fresh water and repeat the cleaning procedure when the initial cycle has been completed. When the water starts to flow, you should pay close attention and promptly turn off the power.
5. The brew button should be pressed and held until the entire amount of liquid is delivered. The limescale in your dispenser should have been removed by now.
6. Allow 30 minutes for the machine to rest.
7. Fill the reservoir with water and brew two more times to rinse.

Keurig K-Duo Series Descaling

1. Fill the reservoir halfway with descaling solution and halfway with water as directed on your product.
2. Ensure your K-cup pod container is empty and place a big mug on the drip tray.
3. Begin your cleansing brew by pushing the OZ/POD button, the 12 buttons, and finally, the ‘brew’ button.
4. Insert your reservoir on the heating plate, push the CUPS/CARAFE, and do a carafe cleansing by pressing the 12 key and hitting ‘brew’ again.
5. Empty the carafe and switch off the heating plate.
6. Allow the machine to rest for 30 minutes.
7. Fill the reservoir with fresh water after rinsing it out. With your carafe in place, perform four cleansing brews. Remove the heating plate and replace it with a big mug.
8. Press the OZ/POD button, then the number 12 button, ‘brew’ for a second thorough rinse.
9. Rinse a total of three times.

Is it Necessary to Clean my Keurig Regularly?

Cafe Last’s founder Graham Cooke says you should do this process once a week to eliminate the buildup. Even though you only need to clean it every two to three weeks.

“We recommend once-a-week cleaning because most people don’t wash their coffeemakers until they stop working,” says Cooke, owner of a coffeemaker company. If we tell somebody to descale their device once a week, they will do it once every two or three weeks.

Lopez suggests cleaning all removable pieces, including the water reservoir and lid, coffee potholder, and drip tray, once a month in addition to the descaling process.

Cooke advises that if you don’t make coffee every day, you should descale your machine at least once a quarter. Why? Because mineral building in the reservoir can corrode your coffee maker’s internal seals and block the machine with hard water buildup, it can cause it to fail.

In general, strive to maintain the equipment as clean as possible by inspecting the tray and outside after use for spillage. Observe the wipe-down instructions daily if the machine is used often.
